I don't want to go to camp (plz read) I'll give 10 points?

Its already one week until I go to camp. I don't want to go, it's a sleep away camp and it's not that I'm scared, it just doesn't sound fun. I try to think of fun activities we will do but each one sounds negative and terrible. I can't not go because my parents already paid.

Staying home sounds like heaven, and I'm serious this is what my parents and older sister do while me and my brothers are away. They eat out at expensive places almost every night. They go to the beach. They also go on vacation to Half Moon Bay or Santa Barbra.

I go to a camp called 'JCA Shalom' and my brothers will be there.

How can I make it seem fun and exciting?

what do you like to do? read? write? draw? bring the stuff to do that:) i dreaded going to camp, no one i knew, what if everyone didnt like me, and of course i bet theyre having loads of fun at home while im stuck here. take the time to meet new people, hint one: make it in with the adults. befriend them and theyll be more likely to tell you whats REALLY fun. two: hang out with the guys, girls tend to sit and gossip, guys can be rough but at least theyll be fun about it, and if youre lucky yould meet a few good looking ones:)

You need to speak to your parents. They may have already paid for camp & made a commitment with the camp that you are going. Backing out a week before may lose the money your parents paid.

I've never been to sleep away camp. I always wanted to go but my mom always said vacations were for HER not the family. So didn't want to "waste" as she said to send me to camp when the money could be used to take HER to Florida.

My kids go to camp. They will go to Church Camp soon. This will be the first year my younger two are going & my 16yr old will be a counselor. She is excited. The kids aunt & uncle are the camp directors.

Camp is often for a short time. So you will still have some time to enjoy summer at home.

Enjoy it while you can. You are only a kid (under 18) once. When you are in your 20s you will see that summer time is usually just another day, week, month. Nothing special, just the same work & come home.

    Adults rarely get summer vacation.

Well, I've been in your situation quite a few times. But it always turns out to be fun, even though I hate to admit it. Lol you'll probably make some new friends while you're there. Have fun and be positive :)

You could voice this complaint to your parents explicitly, saying that you get to spend time at some crappy camp, while they go away.

You will have a good time, all it takes is a positive outlook on the situation. As cliche as it is "Look on the bright side!" Is a pretty good answer.

  • think of it as a new adventure. kind of like a vacation. when your there, you wont have to worry about your parents telling you to do stuff or any annoying siblings or anything else that gets on your nerves. not to mention you will have a chance to meet new people and expand your horizons.
