Should I start working out now???? (16 years old)?

Hi, I am 5'7 and 95 pounds and 16 years old. (Yeah, I know I'm Skinny and i am not anorexic) I eat more than 2500 calories a day and my parents were very skinny as children. I also have really fast metabolism so it is nearly impossible for me to gain weight. both my parents are 5'7. My moms side is very tall, but my dads side is very short. I want to be at least 5'9. Also, i dont do any sports and so minimum exercise. My friend said that I need to work out, in order to grow taller and bigger, and fatter. He used to be skinny but, he got a lot bigger when he started to work out. So should I start working out? Also, will working out make me taller and bigger and fatter...? or should I start by just running outside and building up my stamina? What should I do to get taller faster??????

Getting taller depends mostly on your genetics, so you will be around your parents and reletive's heights.

Getting bigger does require eating and muscle building. You need to eat protiens to build your muscles. And you to rest after a exhausting workout day, because when you work your muscles, you are essentially ripping them a part, that is why they get sore the next day. So you need to rest and get lots of sleep in order to recover. Your muscles will grow bigeer and stronger by working out, then protien and sleep.

But I have no idea how you can shift your genetics and be as big as you want. I think there are limitations. Like a skinny guy like you probally wont be a 6 foot 8 inch man with huge arm and thigh muscles. But you will make progress.

Good luck on getting bigger :)
