Ideas for a fairy painting?

The Idea: The canvas will be held horizontally with a fairy sitting in the center and her bare back facing us so most of the canvas is filled with her wings. All we see of her is the back of her head, her back, wings, and the top part of her skirt since she's sitting.

The Problem: I have no idea what color scheme to use, or what she's sitting on, or what's around her, or what her wings should look like (they're probably gonna be big butterfly-like wings)

I'm painting in basic acrylics, nothing very fancy

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Well your color scheme can be anything... complementary colors.. warm colors, cool colors, it could be monochromatic.. personally, I'd stick to the cool colors such as blue, violet, brown, grey, green, maroon.. etc..

You could make it seem like she's sitting in tall blades of grass (since fairy's are small), perched on a little rock or mushroom.. you could also make her so she's sitting in a windowsill, looking out at the world..
