If you become a vampire lord in Skyrim: Dawnguard, will NPCs attack when you change back to human form?

I know that as a vampire lord NPCs will attack on sight, is it possible to change back to human form anytime you like? If so, would the NPCs keep attacking you when you change back in front of them? Or is it kind of like the werewolf thing where if the NPCs don't see you, they won't recognize you kind of thing? Thanks.

If you change back while they are looking at you, you will have a bounty and some will still attack. If you come back later as a human after killing in vampire lord form, they will not know it was you. As long as no one saw you change, you're fine.

Probably yes. But if you were to change back when people aren't around, it'll be likely you won't attract any unwanted attention to yourself. But if you get a big bounty on your head while going on na killing spree in vampire form, you may have some legal issues to settle out in Nordic court, aka the battlefield.

You must leave combat before returning to human form.
