If a guy you have broken up with, calls you a month later and says I love you, what does it mean?

I was seeing this guy for about 1 1/2 years, we decided to go our own ways. I moved across country to New York City and he stayed in Illinios. He has a new girlfriend. He called me about a month after we broke up, and talked about nothing, then before he hung up, he said I love you. He never said it while we were together, even though I said it to him. What does it mean? He says he wants to come to New York to live.

He had to be apart from you and get a new girlfriend to figure out that he doesn't want anyone else and what he had with you will never compare to anyone else, I was in the same position, and he called me wanting me to come hang out, told me he loved me always have and always will, got back together and things have been great ever since

It could mean alot of things. When you guys separated he must have found someone and she wasn't like you, he had alot to think about then said that to you, he'll say it and think wonder if she'd say it back and still have feelings, or he wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it...

I wouldn't jump into it, get alot of talking and hangout and see if you two are still in the same category.
