In the UK, can I gave a NAME to my council rented property please. I just fancied making a sign for my gate?

I thought I'd name my house, but I don't want to break any laws.

You can name it what you please, but the name will not carry over to the next tenant.

yes you can give your house a name if you like, as long as your not doing it to miss-lead people or obtain money be deception it is perfectly legal

i grew up on a council estate that was near a very posh area called Bamford and some of us as a joke would add to our addresses lower Bamford, the local paper ended up doing a storey on it

Theres no law against naming your house! If you want to use the name instead of your house number in your address then you have to register it. Ask at the Post Office.

I don't see why not. I want to have a sign that says

'barbies heavenly home' lol I'd keep it indoors though cuz kids will like to steal it!

You can but you must use the number as well otherwise you won't get any mail.
