Does a 2004 toyota tacoma prerunner truck have a cabin air filter?
Does anyone know for certain if the 2004 model Toyota Tacoma prerunner truck has a cabin air filter in it? I have read that 1995-2004 was the 1st generation that didnt have cabin air filters and the 2006 or 2007 models started having them. I called the Dealership and they didn't know and said they can check that out when I get my oil change done. Anyone know for sure? Please help.

You can check it your self if you'd like. Its pretty easy. If you have one, it will be behind the glove box. To remove the glove box, just push the two ends(left and right) inwards (towards each other) in order to get the little tabs on the ends to not touch the sides of the dash panel. then if it has a softener/ shock on the right side, remove that as well( should have a screw or just pull of tabs its on). After the you will see the blower motor for your A/C on back and there is going to be a drawer/tray type thing that you just pull out and if you have a filter it will be in that tray. If you don't have this tray at all or there is not filter in the tray, then you don't have a filter at all. But if there is a tray, but no filter, the dealership(Toyota) should be able to retro fit/find one that fits and vwalaa.. you have a cabin air filter! You would need to take the try out and hand it to them to find a filter. Sounds a lot harder then it really is to check it. Hope this answered your question. Good Luck!
