You should have a good balance in your diet, between carbs, protein and fats/sugar.

    It should be about 60% carbs,20% protein,20% fats/sugar.

Good food for muscle building are:

    Meat,eggs,milk,fish and beans.

So if you are vegetarian you should eat egg whites, and milk every day, especially after your workout. But i highly suggest you eat meat or fish.Food like chicken breast or tuna are by far the best muscle builders.

The fat-muscle ratio if you have never exercised depends on your genes and your bodytype.

Some people are more muscular or leaner than others.

Junk food is not bad for muscle building,it is bad for your health and it makes you fat.

So a good meal plan would look like this:

    Breakfast:

    Milk and cereals

    snack:

2 slices of bread with jam

    lunch:

Pasta and chicken or rice and chicken

    snack:

    a fruit or a salad

    dinner:

A meal like meat,a salad with tuna or chicken breast, beans, anything with protein.

    snack:

a yoghurt or glass of milk

You should adjust the portions so you get the calories you need, depending on if you are aiming to lose fat or just build muscle.

To burn fat you should get about 1500 calories a day as male (~1200 as female)To just build muscle and mass you should get 2500 calories or more every day.

    Have fun :)

I have to disagree with the guy above me, you should have no more than 40% of your calories coming from carbs. And sugar should be included in the carb category, not the fat category since your body sees no difference between simple carbohydrates and sugars.

Instead, get as much protein as you can, do not worry about eating too much fat, and try not to load up on carbs, especially simple carbohydrates and sugars.

However I would agree somewhat with the meal plan that the guy above me presented, except the toast and jam, that will do nothing for you. Maybe some eggs instead, or nuts.

hi, you cant eat junk food at all really but at most once a week, and just one treat, if your serious about losing weight and the best thing for muscle us protein in food such as ,eggs , fish ,chicken , pork , nuts and dry fruits , bannanas, things like that and lots of fresh salads with and meat you eat , lettuce breaks down fats from meat and meals ya eat. stick to a healthy positive attitude and a exersize every second day for a hour at first then week by week you increase you time training and lots of squats for ladies pilates is really good my girlfreind does it and her body shape is amazing it really good for all the curves in womens bodies , just stick at it eat protein bars from health shops when your hungru during the day and protein milkshakes before and after training cut sugar out all together and resistance training is best, lots of skipping rope time it burn fat quicker then any other exersize and swimming . and stretch well before all exersize it helps maximise oxygen to get into your blood streams which increases muscle development. ok good luck
