Can water help kickstart a long lost period?
Girls question here but i'm nearing 14 years old and about a year ago i visited my doctor about why i hadnt gotten my period even though i was physically mature. She gave me some prescribed pills had me take them everyday for a week and wouldnt you now it they worked!.. for about 2 months. i am NOT sexually active nor have i ever been but my period just does not want to come. Then today i saw some little glimmer of hope but i dont wanna lose it can drinking water help detoxify my system and maybe help it to return or should i just go to the doctor,gyno and wait for more pills and tests. thanks guys means alot

What I do not understand is why a doctor would put you on a pill at your age just because you have not gotten your period. I would not go back to this doctor and go to a proper OB/GYN, if this is a OB/GYN---seek advice from another one. Believe me--I started at 10, my sister was 15, so do not be in a hurry. If you think that it is odd that you have not started your period, the doctor might run certain types of hormonal test on you to see if there are any issues. You might even want to see an endocrinologist.... but, I would not worry about this if I were you, at least not at this point in time.
Water puts volume in your blood--this is why doctor tell women & young girls who have heavy periods & loose much blood to drink lots of water when they have their period.

I don't know if this answers your question, but once when I was on my period I drank LOTS of water and it actually shortened my period and lightened my flow. If that worked against my period, I don't know if it will work to actually kickstart it.

no. water doesnt do anything, but trust me, you dont want your period! life is easier without it!
