My Laptop freezes on some old games?

Question

Alright I have Dell inspiron n5110 i5 Geforce 525M 8 GB ram with 64 bit windows 7 (I think this is the problem)
Games works well except for some old games like Risk II and Red alert 2 they always freeze on the first screen BUT they're working i can click anywhere and it makes sounds and here is the wierd thing, If i clicked on a button i see no change in the picture or the mainmenu but if i minimized and maximized again I can see the new menu i am in but its frozen also.... What i mean is game is working but its stuck on the first main menu or picture, I have the same games on other PC with windows 7 32 bit and they are working&#92;1.. Sorry for the long post I am not good at explaining, Any ideas?

Hello, The most common cause of computer freezes is a corrupt registry. 
Most likely your registry is bloated and overstuffed with an assortment of useless pieces of data. The operating system while running your computer has to pick its way through all this excess material. There will be bits of programs which were not completely uninstalled, parts of programs which were never completely installed, fragments of miscellaneous data, useless drivers, and a multitude of other bits and pieces.
