Isn't this a run-on sentence?
Howard reportedly wants to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets and only the Nets, however he declined comment when asked by RealGM.
Shouldn't it be: Nets. However, he declined...?
Thanks.
If not a "run on," then what is it? What would our old English high school teachers refer to this as? ;)

No, a run on sentence needs to have two or more independent clauses without a proper joiner word or punctuation. The use of however and the fact that everything after the however further expounds on the 'reportedly' prevents it from technically being a run on sentence on both fronts. Poor wording? I think so. Questionable punctuation? Maybe. Fear not, there are plenty of examples of bad grammar in Yahoo reporting, so keep an eye out.

Or you could throw in a semicolon after the Nets. Grammer is a fickle thing. There are usually a million ways to write the same thing. All technically correct.

No...from what I understand "however" is An addition word meaning the sentence continues with another subject all together....I could be wrong though
