Why do so many compare Obamacare to car insurance?

They are too ignorant to understand. Actually they refuse to understand and won't allow anything thadoesn'tnt conform to their prejudices, much have been formed by listening to the feel good tear jerking progressives like Maddow, Pelosi, Mathews and schultz.

With automobile you have choies. A bonding company to post a liability bond. Self insurance where you can post statutory coverage. Collision insurance is not a government requirement.

You are required by law to buy bodily injury liability as a auto owner.

You are also required by law to do the following:

- pay sales taxes when purchasing a good or service

- when you receive a speeding ticket or traffic violation (you don't have to own a car for that)

- Voters IDs, State ID and Drivers licences are poll taxes

- To start and run any company you are required to buy limited Liability insurance....

No one chooses to have a heart attack, either, but when someone has one he will be brought to the emergency room and treated, regardless if he has insurance or not. And if he doesn't and cannot afford the giant bill, the rest of us will have to cover for this cost.

You are paying higher premiums for your auto policy to cover for the uninsured motorist. Look at your policy next time. If everyone had auto insurance your premiums would decrease.

Same principle applies to health care coverage.

for most people I know...there isn't a choice in buying a car...

you have to have a car to go to work... most people don't have access to public transportation and those that do, it doesn't go where they need to go...

while it's not exactly the same... calling it a "choice" to buy a car/drive is a big stretch too... about 80 percent of the people I know wouldn't work if they didn't have a car

Everyone participates in the health care industry, thus every should have insurance.

If you don't like the Constitution, write to your senator and ask them to amend it.
