why do US casinos always have an Asian area?

Not all US casinos have an "Asian area," but several do have services that cater specifically to Asian players. I even remember a long time ago the MGM Grand changed the front entrance to their casinos because Asians thought is was bad luck to walk into the mouth of a lion.

The reason is quite simple: many Asian players are high rollers. The City Center here in Las Vegas has an entire hotel geared specifically towards Asian clientele. The Aria casino has baccarat tables with $100,000 minimum bets that are played almost exclusively by Asian players, and those tables alone are often the difference between a winning and losing month for the casino. Asian players are big spenders, and casinos know it.
