They shouldn't be used for domestic surveillance. UAV's could be used for border surveillance, aerial pursuit of fleeing suspects, an aid to firefighters in forest fires and brush fires, and to aid in search and rescue when conditions make it too dangerous for manned aircraft.

As long as they are only used in PUBLIC. You have no "expectation of privacy" in public. Look around some time, pay attention, and you'll see just how many cameras up on poles are ALREADY watching you. It's no different. And, if the government wants to spy on you, then can already easily do it with satellites. Again, as long as it doesn't violate your PRIVACY. How is that different than Walmart watching you in their parking lot, or the freeway cameras?

They already are. By the end of the decade we will be living in a dystopian police state.

No.We are already surveilled enough. Safe to say we will be entering a police state soon.

No. It's a waste of money. In the USA I grew up in it wouldn't be tolerated. Unfortunately, that country is gone.

In certain cases they should, and ARE. However, as with certain things like wire taps, they should be "okayed" by a judge.

    Sure

They are going to watch who they want to watch anyway...at least this way we don't have to pay a pilot and a cameraman the high wages of a certified pilot.
