Which engineering career has a better future?

I'm starting university in a few months and I heard you can switch from engineering physics to electrical engineering first year without doing an extra year.

Anyways on to the question, which engineering field has a better future and by that I mean more job opportunities; the economy is well doing poorly and if there are any engineers reading this I'm wondering which career has more jobs, electrical engineering or engineering physics?

Nuclear Engineering has the most job opportunities. I would recommend doing Engineering Physics with a focus on Nuclear or Energy. I just graduated from a Nuclear Engineering program (class of 40) and I have a job that pays very well. As for my classmates I believe about 20 of them have jobs. There are so many countries looking to build nuclear power plants that the demand for nuclear professionals is much more than the supply.
