How can people take politics seriously, after people like G.W. Bush become president?

Its kind of similar in Britain, david cameron who got educated at eton. Do people seriously think politicians like david cameron and george osbourne - who got educated at private schools and had millionaire parents - really care about the middle or lower class, who they most probably look down upon and can't relate to. At least they try to look like they care but george bush, EVERYONE knows he isn't smart and he didn't even try, to add to that he was the son of a previous president. I didn't know america had a royal family system like the they had in the middle ages. He also failed miserably at running an oil company; yup I guess thats the kind of people the public want to be making the decision for us. Everyone knows he was a puppet anyway because he was literally that careless.

Now obama is in power, I have a strong feeling that he is also a puppet, the corporations behind these faces are the real decision makers I feel, they just change the face of the president every so often to make people think a good difference is going to be made.

There was a picture of george osbourne I remember with a lady and white powder on the table in front of them, I think the press commented on it - mocked him. I don't think anybody needs to act like they don't know what it is. I have no faith in politics, is there anyone who does, and if so then why?

Update:

I know there are many people in politics who care and want to make a difference but they dont get in power, because the corporations have to pcik someone who they know is loyal to them, they got it wrong with JFK: “We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence — on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day”

Bush did not win in 2000. The GOP cheated us and then their favorite president took a surplus into a disaster.

So the cons love Bush and want the same thing?....Do they think magic underwear will allow America to survive a double down on Bush admin?

I love it the answers here are saying they want more of the economic policies that led to disaster....shows they hate America and want it to crumble....

Not Americans .......lie, cheat, destroy...the new republican party...............Blow the world up as long as there are black people in the world

George W Bush is the most intellectually lazy man to ever sit in the White House. Everything he has was given to him on a silver platter by his daddy and his daddy's fatcat buddies. Every organization Bush was in charge of was turned into ruins. He was a disgrace.

i'm not a Democrat, yet I now not evaluate myself a Republican. i like Jon Huntsman. i'd evaluate balloting for him over Obama, yet till Republican votes stop desirous to appoint the 'maximum conservative' candidate somewhat of the guy who has the final replace of thrashing Obama., he does not stand of challenge. luckily, not all Republican voters are Evangelical Christian and/or worship FOX information. there's a narrow probability. i'm 50/50 with Romney/Obama. Romney has offered out to the GOP Borg. i'm able to't vote for Santorum, Perry or Gingrich. self sustaining

Not gonna read all that (4 lines or less) but that's exactly WHY some people now take it seriously.

Seriously, I miss Bush, as I cannot take this president seriously. Now that he has control over the american people, what will he do to us next? Obama has never done anything for us.

    Romney 2012!

I agree, problem is that we elected a bigger progressive and soon will be down the crapper like Europe.

You could just say, "Gimme mah freebies", and it would have exactly the same impact with less typing.
