    Did you go to:

    http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Drive...

Enter your service code and install ALL the drivers?

I have a Dell 1525 myself and I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit installed

from a DELL installation disc, but as I've reinstalled my OS several times

I don't like using the mouse pad either but my 1525 has the Dell 360 (internal) Bluetooth Module

so I have a five button Dell Bluetooth Mouse.

My Mousepad is still active (I see no point in turning it off) I just ignore it most of the time.
