How long will it be until the Lions don't need to prove haters wrong?
First, we make the playoffs when NO ONE predicted us to last year, and take criticism for getting in because of the Bears' injuries, even though Matthew Stafford played with a broken index finger in Week 10 and played the worst game of his career, and the Lions were absolutely screwed by the Packer-favoring refs in Week 17, as well as having to start wide receivers at safety because of all the injuries. Stafford will only get better, the run game will improve, the defense will be MUCH better next year with Nick Fairley, and the Lions will once again successfully prove haters wrong, again. 10-6 at worst.

Well, for starters, you guys didn't beat one team with a winning record last year. Not one. Secondly, the only injury I bring up is the injury to OUR STARTING QUARTERBACK, the most important player on the field. Don't give me the BS about Stafford's finger, he still played, didn't he? If it were so bad, why wouldn't he sit out? It would have been to their advantage in the 2nd meeting vs. the Bears, he played like sh*t. Third, do you realize how undisciplined this team is? 6 arrests is a joke. The 2010 Bucs were a team somewhat similar to the Lions. They were extremely young and finished the season 10-6. The next year, however, Raheem Morris could not keep his team disciplined, and you saw what happened. They went 4-12, had a complete meltdown. I'm not saying that the Lions will have this kind of downfall, but discipline is important on a team, and Jim Schwartz is obviously not succeeding in this area. Also, why are Lions fans saying their defense will be so much better? Fairley may have potential, but his *** can't stay out of trouble. Your secondary is still terrible, you act like signing Jacob Lacey and Sean Jones does anything? Lacey is TERRIBLE, I have a friend who is a Colts fan and he'd let you know that. Sean Jones is a veteran who simply adds depth. You all say that Aaron Berry played well last year and that he could be good, but he too got arrested (seeing a pattern here?). Delmas may be the only legitimate player in that secondary, and he can't stay healthy (not to mention that Lions fans overrate him so much). Finally, how will the run game improve? If Best gets one more concussion, his career may be over. Leshoure is just another Lions player who can't stay out of trouble. The only time I really saw their run game do well was the first meeting against the Bears, in which the Bears had the worst safety play I've ever seen in my life. That's part of the reason we let Chris Harris go and he ended up signing with the Lions.
Overall, this team has way too many holes and is too undisciplined to be a playoff team again. Their last season was a fluke just because of the teams they beat to get into the playoffs and most importantly a way better Bears team got plagued with injury. I see the Lions being average, 9-7 at best.

I'm going to be straight up with you. Detroit is NOT made a mockery of because they're a good team who had a good year. They're made a mockery of because of the disciplinary issues, the fact that the city of Detroit in general is a dump, and *some* Detroit fans on this website act like cocky little punks.
Detroit is hated on Yahoo Answers because some of you Lions fans have a sense of entitlement to talk trash about whoever you want because your QB threw for 5,000 yards and the Lions made the playoffs after failing to win a game such a short time earlier. Was it a remarkable turnaround? Is Detroit a talented team? I say yes to both. But it's the little things, like "Peyton Manning, John Elway, Joe Montana NEVER did what Matthew Stafford did" that really gets to people.
Make no mistake, I like the Lions. But from the way some of their fans talk on here, you would think the whole roster was comprised of Greek Gods. That needs to stop, and if and when it does, you'll see nobody except Bears fans making fun of them.

people are always gonna dislike and make fun of the lions but if the lions can consistently be a playoff team (3 times in a row, or maybe 4 out of 6 years) people should start giving lions some respect after that
- 9 years ago
They'll get respect when they deserve it. So far all they've proven is that they can make the playoffs for the first time in over a decade and gets crushed in the first round, needed to come back from behind double digits to secure half of their wins, barely beats below average teams, got crushed by some of the best teams in the league, and have one of the most undisciplined teams in the league. If the Lions can take the next step towards the postseason next year, then you can talk but as of now the you've proven nothing more than the average one-year wonder.

Religion is solely aspect of the best way the human brain and societies paintings. We additionally make the unwarranted assumption that there are different persons and determine relationships with them. No sane persons are solipsists although there's no deductive argument for the life of different minds. Not all religions are theistic, of path. However, that is as a result of variants within the distinctive item of Ultimate Concern. Since all of us have an Ultimate Concern, it being an ineradicable aspect of our nature, our alternative is constrained to what so as to be. It can also be rationale, human goodness, enlightenment, pride or God, amongst different matters (e.g. the Dao). We necessarily can have this kind of crisis, the one query is what our alternative is.

Dude Matthew Stafford Is a beast just as good as Aaron Rodgers and he is only getting better they got the games best wide reciever in Calvin Johnson something the Packers don't have there gonna get there running game back and they fixed there defense there gonna go 12-4 at least and Packer fans are scared cause the Lions might win the division and all the other haters there team probably sucks but the lions are gonna be good I wouldn't be surprised if they make the Super Bowl with all the talent they have

Packer favoring refs? Dude our backup offense torched your sorry secondary. They only made the playoffs because they have had about 5 or 6 top 5 picks in the last 8 years. Nobody hates your useless, insignificant franchise. We have grown man sh*t to deal with.

Did people not watch Week 17? Titus Young scored a TD that the refs missed but we couldn't challange it because we used our challanges to fix the refs mistake.
They'll stop hating when Mr. 5000 leads us to the promise land this year.
