Question regarding California Department of Labor Holiday and Overtime pay?
I need to know how much I can expect to be paid for tomorrow. Tomorrow is a holiday so I will already be paid time and a half my my regularly scheduled 8.5 hrs tomorrow. My employer asked that I return to work at a different location that same day. I will be getting off work at 9:30 pm and reporting to the other location at 10 pm to work until 4:30 the next day. This means I will have worked 11.5 hrs by the time midnight rolls around not counting the half hour between going from one job site to the other. I believe this is counted as the same work day until midnight but there is the half hour gap and the holiday pay part that is confusing to me. Can anyone explain how my pay will work? It would be especially appreciated if you can point me to a page that explains this. Thanks in advance.

your employer is not required to pay you holiday pay or overtime for working a holiday, it is policy not law, 11.5 hours regular pay and 8 hours holiday pay
