You don't have to be fundamentalist to be against evolution, what you need is just to:

    - Believe that the bible is fully inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, so truth might be influenced by the 'style' of the author, but the meaning never change.

    - Believe that the Holy Spirit thousands years ago is the same Holy Spirit today, and he knew what we will think about the story of the creation, yet, he let it to be written that way. I am talking about accepting literal and spiritual meaning, not figurative of Genesis. You don't need to be scholar to know that Genesis is telling what happened.

    - Believe that God is able enough to create a thousands of years aged tree in a a second.

    > For me, believing evolution is not believing Jesus, why? because you don't believe a Jesus less than who he is to be saved, but a Jesus exactly as who he is. And that Jesus is LORD of all, in whom all things were created (not evolved).

    Peace!
