Caught Speeding 93mph in 65mph zone? Worth fighting?
I got caught going 93 mph in a 65 mph zone. I really have no excuse as I was clearly speeding. When the cop asked me how fast I was going I said around 80 (maybe I shouldn't have said this). I am 18 and this is my first speeding ticket. I am from Massachusetts. The cop caught me on Lidar and estimated the speed. (checked boxes). Fine of $380. Citation was chapter 90 section 17, here is the link:

My questions are:
1) Is it really worth it to try and fight this ticket (hire a lawyer)?
2) This is my first offence (clean driving record until now) so will I get any demerit points?
3) Will this speeding ticket affect my insurance? (I am on parents insurance).
4) How can I fight this ticket?
5) How can I look for a reputable lawyer for fighting the speeding ticket?

1) Traffic lawyers are tricky. The promise "adjudication withheld" which means no points, but then you still have to pay him, the ticket, and court costs.
2) Yes
3) Depends on insurance, most of the time not unless they have a reason to check your history.
4) You can't.
5) They don't exist.
Remember that the judge has the power to increase the ticket by a lot ($1,000) or more if he wants to. Taking this to court may piss him off and he could do just that.

Since this is your first ticket you should just pay it. After all, you were guilty and even admitted that to the officer. It's a good idea to hire a lawyer when you're freedom or driving privileges are on the line.
I can understand going 75, but 93mph is dangerous!

What is it about this ticket you feel like fighting?
You're as guilty as sin, man up and take what's coming and be happy you
didn't hit someone at that speed...surely there would have been casualties.
