Stretching my ear piercings from 14g to 12g...?
Alright, hello! I bought a pair of 14g tapers and a pair of 12g tapers on the 25th of June. I've had my ears pierced for over 13 years, so I didn't have to worry about anything like that. The 14g tapers went in easily with very little pain. After maybe 7-8 days, I tried to move up a size, to 12g, because I heard and searched online and it said that it was alright to move up a size. I took out the 14g tapers and tried to put in the 12g taper. I thought it was going in smoothly, but it came to a stop after the pointed part was in, and when it was the actual area that stretches your ears. I pushed very hard to get the taper in, and there was lots of pain even while using a lubricant. I immediately took it out, washed the area, and just put in 14g plugs. I want to know if that kind of pain is normal for such a small size, and when it would be an appropriate time to try to move up a size again. Thank you :3

Your first problem is that you didn't wait long enough in between stretches. You need to wait AT LEAST a month between stretches at these sizes. Not a week, not two weeks. You need to give your ears time to fully heal. That's why you encountered so much pain. You should feel a slight kind of pinch and your ear will probably feel hot. That is normal. Not lots of pain. It should never hurt. But you did do the right thing by putting the 14's back in. Wait a month before trying to stretch to 12.

You have been traditionally pierced at an 18 or 20 gauge. I could propose establishing at 14. Your going to must get tapers to begin out with. Does it harm? Well, it would harm a tiny bit from the stretching. Hope this is helping:)
