Should I turn to prostitution to take care of my family (long story)?

No please don't. I know you need to do whatever you can to survive and take care of your family but you should not take to prostitution. If you're really attractive you should at least consider just being an exotic dancer or a shot girl at a bar or work at hooters. But those types of jobs I wouldn't recommend, but they're a much better alternative that is similar to what you're talking about. Prostitution is really dangerous. You don't know who that is that is desperate enough to pay a stranger. Could be a murderer, someone with AIDS or any number of other diseases. Or just a sick freak who'll want to tie you up and keep you there. They may not even end up paying you. And then what would you do if they didn't? It's not like you have a contract; it's not even a legal profession. It's too dangerous.

Instead, just try working at McDonalds or any fast food restaurant or any other restaurant or pharmacy, convenience store, etc. Apply everywhere. I know it's a really bad economy but there are some jobs out there. You can also act as a babysitter/nanny. Look in the ads for people looking for nannies, they usually pay pretty well (above minimum wage).

I would highly recommend contacting a church nearby. It's much better to ask a charity for their help than sell your body. Also apply for WIC/welfare/food stamps. There are plenty of soup kitchens and things like that that will give you meals and help.

Prostitution will not help you turn your situation around. It will only put you in danger! It's not worth it! I'm so sorry about your situation. I can't even imagine. I will pray for you and your family. I really respect you for wanting to do anything you can to help your family. You have great drive. Just try to stay in school. Its hard to get a job without a high school degree once you get older. Churches would be so happy to help you, this is one of the very purposes that they are in the community for! They will help anyone who needs it!

No, it's not worth it. There are many jobs even if they don't pay much it's better than nothing, apply for many different jobs, prostitution is not the way to go, you can very well get some type STD or Aids or something. Prostitution just isn't what you need to do, but i'd be doing any LEGAL job to help my brother and mom. Even if it was scrubbing toilets or something like that. Try as hard as you can to find a job. I'm in a poor situation too, though not as bad as you. Go to places like Wal-Mart, Target, anywhere in the mall, the baseball park, subway, mcdonalds... etc. I know that in my state some jobs hire young as 15. If its your LAST choice and you're on rock bottom, then maybe. But remember, its YOUR choice. Once you lose your virginity, you can't take it back. I'm not one of those stingy adults about it though, I lost it to one I love, but as young as 14. I don't regret it, but I know many girls who did. Do what you think you gotta do girl. Good luck. You should save your V-card for someone special there must be another way.If you turn to prostitution and get an std and die then who will take care of your brother.You could at least ask for a loan from a friend or something!

You have to do what you have to do. Maybe look in to getting housing assistance and food stamps and welfare first. If that doesn't work, I see nothing wrong with doing what you have to do in order for you and your family to survive. Also, many churches help with food and housing if the other options are not available.

well first you should find other jobs to do. selling yourself makes you die faster. like getting getting hiv or aids. germs and bacteria from unknown people. but if you can't then find a person your close and like as boyfriend or something for your first not a old man who buying you. I'm sorry for what your family has been through but i hope it becomes a happy ending.

it sounds like your going to need a lot of humility but don't go into prostitution...ask for assistance from normal people, church, school, or write to family...hell, if you opened up a link for your family and wrote your story people might send you money
