why do people seem to like subbed anime so much?
everytime i see someone asking about dubbed episodes online there's a million people saying "why are you watching dubbed? dubbed sucks, watch subbed instead!"
i don't understand it. sure with subbed you get the original show and what not but i like being able to understand what they say. then people say "that's what the subtitles are for", but by reading subtitles all i get is dialogue cause i can't read and watch what's happening at the same time. but maybe that's just a disorder i have or something since everyone else apparently does it fine, lol.

"dubbed sucks" seems to be the battle cry of "true" anime geeks everywhere, regardless of the quality or accuracy of a dub. They are like the pretentious hipsters of anime.
That being said, I have found many dubs to be substandard compared to the original. Then again, I have found that reading subs takes away from the art and action of screen, since it's difficult to fully focus on the animation when you're constantly reading along the bottom.

there are several reason why people prefer subed over duubed.
1.) The Japanese voice actors were originally cast because they sounded like the characters but when it is dubbed over you lose the essence of the character
2.) If you watch one episode in subbed and then another in dubbed it just sounds awful
3.) in japanese you don't hear terrible catchphrases like "believe it!" every 5 seconds
