Tips on Getting a Part-time Job?

Personal connections and persistance are your only real tools. Ask any and all family members or friends of your family if they know anyone hiring. If you can't find a job through networking then physical applications like you've done is your other option, but remember to be persistant. Don't just apply and wait. Employers want to see initiative. Go back into the establishment and ask to talk to the manager. I personally went in 5 separate times to talk to the manager, I think I literally annoyed him into giving me the job. Ended up working there for 4 1/2 years. I think he respected the perseverance.
