Would you be willing to travel to a star...?
Would you be willing to travel to a star 10 light-years away and spend 5 years on the planet orbiting this star before returning home (25 plus years of your life) if you could travel at 99.9% the speed of light both ways? Explain.

No because as fascinated and inspired as I am with the infiniteness of space and the universe, I am terrified at the idea of leaving this planet, the only home I have ever known. Also, I like to be where there is gravity holding me down and an atmosphere as well. I do not want to leave the atmosphere of Earth, ever.

It would be about 5 years and a little bit of your life traveling at 99.9% light speed, you would arrive at the star at virtually the same time you left Earth.Every one on Earth would have aged 25 years,

You have made a major miscalculation in your description, which invalidates your question, unfortunately.
The human body can only withstand a certain amount of acceleration. In all probability there is a much lower level of acceleration which it could withstand for years at a time. So instead of assuming that you start and finish the trip at 99.9% c, you need to think about how long it would take to accelerate to relativistic speeds and to decelerate agin from them - twice. The answer, if you do the mathematics, means that you or your fellow adventurers are not actually going to live long enough to make the journey.

It would be difficult job to find astronauts for such type of mission, since the time required to reach this planet would be too much. But yes if there is more advanced technology someday which can achieve several times the speed of light.More research, practicality and planning needs to be done.
