What we have in a built-in instinct to stay alive at all costs - it's iron clad. So don't kick yourself for having an instinct to stay alive - it's the MOST important one - more than sex or food or anything else. The only thing that sometimes is stronger is if we have to save a child or save the country.
What you're seeing is the consequence of consciousness - we're the only animal that has it. We can look ahead and we KNOW we're going to die. This is really heavy - no other animal is burdened with this knowledge.

I'm terrified of the PROCESS of death, but for "Death" in and of itself I have no real "Fear" because it will be nothing more than going back to the non-existence that I was before I was born.
I've experienced enough physical pain in my life that I can only hope that my death is very very quick so that I don't need to suffer physically and mentally before the end comes and I'm shut off like a burnt out light bulb.

It's perfectly normal. The evolutionary purpose of that fear is to keep us alive--at least long enough to reproduce. That fear will decrease as you get closer to death. Sometimes in my youth I would become so afraid of dying that I could hardly function. Now in my seventies, death is just a part of the whole program. It will come when it comes, and I will be as ready as I can be.

Like the quote attributed to Chief Seattle who said, " Death ? There is no Death, only a change of worlds. " my Dad said that Death is not the end, but rather a beginning of a new adventure.

No, there is something better after this life, somewhere where I can be with all my family again one day. Heaven. Thank Jesus for your life and accept him into your heart and you to will go to heaven and will not need to fair death. As death wont exist only life beyond this life.

I used to be when i was young but now i got used to the idea.
I think as children unless we are faced with death, we don't think about it but as a teen we all start to realise life does not go on forever, and we all die, and its a shock!
Remember fear feeds on fear, so start talking about death, ask and research what others believe and you will gradually stop feeling so frightened.

Not scared for myself, but I'm not standing in line. My death will hurt the many people who love me and I'm not comfortable with that

Socrates a greek philosopher was asked this question "are you afraid of dying"
he said what is there to be afraid of i know there are two possiblities.
One is where i cease to exist and then i am not there to worry about.
another is that ill continue to exist in another form, have none of my worries.
