I am a TOTAL girly girl, and I'm being forced to go camping! Help!?

Ok, so I am 14 and a complete California city girl. Im pretty normal for where and how I live, but my best friends mom signed me up for this camp and i am TERRIFIED. She is like a second mom to me, and she is a really pretty businessy designer, always super on top of everything and I have known her pretty much my whole life, I alsways just say she is my aunt, she is always does sweet stuff for me. But she thinks camping is good for you and this year she signed her daughter (my friend) and me both up. And she payed for it and everything, so im kinda stuck. And I'm really worried I don't think I am cut out for this. It's like a week and a half long girls camp, in the woods, the wilderness. I think you sleep in like tents and dirt floor log cabins. And hike and cook over a fire and all that stuff. I have only camped once before but it was not a good experience! And that was when I was like 10! I hate dirt and bugs. And I am so worried their won't be bathrooms or mirrors, or that we wont be able to shower or we will have to pee in the forest. I mean, I take a hot shower every day, use shampoo, conditioner, soap, shave everyday... i also have had some trouble with acne, and I use a special facial wash and body wash as well as medication on my face and back every day to control and prevent acne. I wear contact lenses too. And I wear kind of a lot of makeup. Most days I wear foundation, a little blush, lipgloss, some subtle eyeshadow, and mascara. Even on a light days I wear concealer and mascara and lip balm or something on my lips. I usually straighten my hair, sometimes I curl it or braid it or style it up. I wear stuff like skirts and jeggings and sandals or heels or boots, lacy scarves, earrings. This is a camp for teenage girls who are really into camping and backpacking entrepenering (is that a word?) and stuff like that. I am going to be a fish out of water. I mean three of my friends are going but they are all athletic and dont wear makeup or anything. None of my girly friends are going. PLEASE, advice on how to camp for girls?!?! How do you manage it? Thank you so much?

Here's an idea: MAN UP! IDC if you're a girly girl, I live in CA too and when I was a girly girl (I'm not anymore) I HATED being outdoors 'cause I was scared my hair or outfit would get messed up. I never wore makeup though. But if you don't wanna man up, fake being sick. It should work. I'm going to camp next week too, but we don't get the luxury of tents or cabins. We sleep on wood planks (and air matresses if you bring them) outside. There aren't really any good mirrors, but we DO have indoor plumbing (kind of). There's something like an outhouse with five showers and five toilets. This'll be my third year at this camp (it's called 4-H camp, check it out). If you're so worried about mirrors, BRING ONE! And by that, I mean a hand mirror. Just brush your hair (they don't have outlets at my camp). Ideal clothes? Jeans and t-shirts. Good luck; you'll need it.

    1. No one is going to care about what you look like when your camping

    2. Your not going to die because you cant have a full shower everyday

    3. Judging by your description of the place, theres probably going to be bathrooms, if not nothing is wrong with going in the woods

    4. Who cares if you get a little dirty? You'll live

    5. Stop worrying, just because you cant live your normal lifestyle for a few days doesnt mean its the end of the world.

Start by doing some research on the specific camp of which you are a victim. I believe that you will find that the facilities are not as bad as you imagine. I enjoy remote wilderness experiences and am going to areas in Alaska governed by large, brown bears. So, I cannot relate to your feelings entirely. However, I think that part of your complexion problems may be caused by your heavy make-up. Camp will be a good opportunity to try not using make-up and discovering whether you are healthier by avoiding cosmetics. I am much more attracted to a woman who wears minimal cosmetics than a girly-girl. So, you may find that guys are more interested in you when you are less gooped.
