MTG: +1 counters on things that become creatures?
There are a number of lands that become creatures until the end of the turn as well as artifacts, and even Gideon Jura. So if I manage to put a +1/+1 counter on one of these while they are creatures will that counter remain when it reverts back to what it was? The land Raging Ravine http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.asp... has the ability to put +1/+1 counters on itself that will remain (although useless until it becomes a creature again). But I'm not sure if this is limited to this card only or it extends to all things that become creatures.

You can put +1/+1 counters on anything, it just wont do anything unless its a creature. Lands, enchanments, artifacts, all of them can have counters.

Counters exist only while in play and artifacts and things that turn into creatures never leave play, so why would the counters not stay?

Yes, that last ruling applies to anything that can be turned into a creature, then reverts back.
