Christians! How do you know your ancient book is right when the Mormons have ancient golden tablets?

Wouldnt make sense that the word of God would be printed on something flashier?

Maybe you should say denomination. Since mormons are christians that's like asking Catholics how they know they're religion is right when Protestants have Martin Luther.

Scripture alone is the inspired word of God written through yielded human instruments led by God the Holy Spirit. Ancient golden tablets notwithstanding, the book of Mormon is a creation of Joseph Smith and not God.

A lot of it is a matter of perspective.

On the one hand you've got a story of an angel and golden plates, on the other hand you've got thousands of manuscripts being copied by hand over thousands of years and many changes but the text remained perfect.

I like reading the words of both book rather than sweating it out over the origins.

I think I would have failed English 121 if my book report consisted of me saying "I saw the UPC symbol on the book and tracked it to a book-store, but I'm trying to find the trucking company that brought it there so I can go to the publisher and verify it's contents" - I did slightly better by reading the books and learning from them then commenting on their points and purpose.

The Mormon religion was made to be an excuse for racism since it was invented by Joseph Smith a racist in the 1800's. In the Mormon religion they believe black people are cursed and un-pure. So your point is invalid.

God tends to not be too flashy, he often uses the least expected means to do his work. Jesus was the son of a carpenter. Mary was just a young jewish girl and some of Jesus' early followers were humble fishermen.

They do? Have you seen them? Or have you even seen pictures of them? People talk about ancient Biblical artifacts all the time. But how many have you really seen or even seen a picture of? Think about it.

Yeah, God was vain enough to want something flashy. He called Himself a jealous god.

The Holy Spirit is flasher than any man made materials.
