What is this lump beside my groin area (female)?
All the details are.
I am 17 years old, been with my guy for 4 years and I am sexually active with him but no one else. Been having sex for a little over a year.
There is a lump under my skin on the right side of my body very close to my vagina. If you were to put your hands on your hips and move your hands to where it touched where your vagina met your leg you would find it. It is very tender and hard, not big but it feels like a bruise when you touch it. I just got off my period it was on time and everything was the same like usual.
What is this and how can I treat it. Appeared only yesterday.
there is nothing to pop. it is a lump under the skin, you cant see it. its like a swollen lymph node or something. and other girls get them all the time so I was asking about their experiences, so I dont need to go to the doctor yet.

it can be one of many things.
here is what I think it could be based off what you stated:
1. even though you are having sex with one person, you never know for sure if you partner is having sex with one person ( and that one person should be you )
It is always helpful to get regularly tested ALWAYYYYSSSS!
2. Based off number 1. if he is sexually active with other parties, then you may have a genital wart, which is a sexually transmitted disease. it is treatable/curable. warts are a virus, so they stay in your body, but you can get rid of a wart. what i mean by virus is that it is possible that it could come back, in the same area or somewhere else but depending on your body you can probably fight it off and it wont come back.
3. Cancer: DONT FREAK OUT! - - - - - - do you tan? naked? in a tanning salon?
if you do..you are possible to catch cancer and if you have a lump down there, it may be just that. You can research it, but I saw a story of a girl who had a lump down there and ignored it and it got huge and she found out it was cancer from tanning and it was too late to treat.
4. Sorry... i mentioned all the scary stuff first but what I REALLY THINK YOU HAVE IS THIS:
an ingrown hair.
lol. HOW SIMPLE!?
I get those sometimes. do you shave downstairs? if so, you may just have an ingrown hair that got a little infected. DO NOT POP IT, or touch it. mess with it..etc.
it is usually tender, hurts to touch, and is hard.
get a warm washcloth or something and press it on there.
it will go away shortly.
but keep an eye on it just incase it may be something else :)
like i said, it's probably just an ingrown hair :)

Well, first off, your vagina doesn't meet your leg- your labia does. Is this on the labia (lip) or is it on the fold between your thigh and the labia? How big is the lump? This could be a lot of things- ingrown hair, pimple, boil, small cyst that is inflamed or infected, etc.
Try putting a moist warm compress on it to help soothe the pain. This can help for a lot of things. Try not to pick at it (DON'T pop it) even if it is a pimple. You can be at a high risk for an infection from doing something like that. If it is a boil, cyst or pimple- the warm compress may end up making it open up and drain on it's own. If this is the case, this will relieve some of the pressure and pain. You can put on the warm compresses several times a day. If this doesn't resolve on it's own, think about seeing your OB/GYN- in case it is something that needs to be treated.
Good Luck

I use to get what you are describing. I didn't really know what it was either. It might be an ingrown hair or a pimple/zit. If its an ingrown hair it goes away after a couple days. If its a pimple/zit, it may take longer...

Well, there are two possibilities. 1- it's a tumor. 2- it's just a boil (which tends to show up from time to time, specially if you have low immune system). But it's best if you ask your doctor about it.

It's either a pimple or an ingrown hair, lots of people I know get them including sexually and non-sexually active people.
