I actually like your question, it made me smile because it's a very good and clever question :) My answer would be that people (when in love) are both in love and in lust with their partner and usually if you care about someone and "love" them you want to be physical with them and it doesn't hurt (assuming from a guys point of view here!) if they look hot, sexy etc (women).
