But today, they started a new trend they can copy over and over again. John was rubbing Marlena's feet, but yesterday Daniel was rubbing Nicole's feet. So, I think next Lucas will rub Sami's feet, Will rubbing Sonny's feet, Austin/Carrie, and so on.

I completely agree that Sami and Ej are keeping it afloat! Also, is it just me or is it weird seeing Daniel and Nicole make out? Partially because they just threw them together and secondly because she is pregnant!

Now, as for your question: Days has no consistency and they must think their loyal viewers are idiots. If Daniel and Melanie are that close as father and daughter shouldn't he be wondering something by now?

So here is what Days needs to do: Build long lasting relationships between characters. Put people together and leave them together Allow us to go through their daily life battles instead of all of the unbelievable uber-drama. When Ariana died they mourned for 5 days and then she was forgotten about. Perhaps Gabi should have struggled with depression for the loss of her sister. Maybe tried to kill herself. The hospital could make for some interesting stories. Show me how the doctors struggle when they lose a patient. We rarely see the doctors at work. Show sami with the kids more often. Let one of the kids be a problem child and have Sami struggling to deal with a bad little child. Stop just throwing couples together. Let them flirt, date and fall in love. Include some cheating and infidelity. Let someone get cancer and have to go through chemo for a while. When Brady was an alcoholic they could have showed him going to a meeting or two.

Of course I know drama is needed. In that case you could have deaths, house fires, car accidents, miscarriages etc...and occasionally throw in some big drama like kidnapping, people being drugged etc....

As for creativity in Hollywood: Every now and again you come across something creative and powerful like Slum dog Millionaire. It was a complete shocker for me. I really do believe everything has been done and people are just struggling to find new ways to tell the same old stories. Life has the same basic drama from one person to the next with the exception of a few extreme cases.

Of course they have kidnap rooms just like viewers at home do. For awhile "panic-rooms" were all the rage and when they went out of style, it was easy to convert it to a kidnap room. People were bored of panic rooms because it was just them and their poo-poo bucket, and that got old.

I wish mine was a clean and light as this DOOL one is. I'd love to see Melanie look out the peep hole at Gabby and the dorkus fighting. They have to stand right by the door and seemingly yell into the room, standing right next to each other. They are lucky that Melanie faints from turning over in bed. BTW is Mel pregnant? She grew a heck of a butt on her.
