cleaning my bicycle disc breaks?

so I was oiling my bike chain on my Cannondale F4 bicycle and I thought I was being good and not getting any over spray on the discs but apparently I did because my brakes suck now like so bad they pretty much don't work. So mad with myself. so i took the pads out and cleaned them and the disc with break cleaner, that didn't help at all, so i took them off again and cleaned everything with rubbing alcohol 70% and still didnt help much. what should i do? thanksss =\

There are products designed to be used with bike disc brakes. I don't know if you've tried any, but I've heard that Fenwick's disc brake cleaner is great. All you do is spray it on, give it a little time to soak in, spray on another layer and leave it to drip dry. I hope that helps, and I'd recommend a drip oil in the future as it's just easier to control overall.

A good reason for not using a spray can for oiling your chain,. If you had noticed that there was oil on the brake rotor and cleaned it right away you might not have had a problem. You might be able to clean the pads if you remove them and give them a good soaking in a brake cleaning solution, or simply replace them. Make sure to clean the rotor again before you install the pads again. Since you have already cleaned the pads twice you may just have to replace them
