Can I use Varathane to preserve a flower?

If I dipped a flower in Varathane, would it seal it well enough to prevent it from rotting?

Try it.....just dip the flower in it and let it drain and dry. It might work well.

    Probably not...

The solvents present in Varathane would attack the flower's structure and cause it to change...
