IN YOUR OPINION, DO YOU THINK IT REALLY MATTERS?

Do you think it really matters what ethnic background a president is to be successful? I have my own opinion, but I would like the opinion of others.

It actually depends on what you mean by the word "successful". MANY people think Obama has been a failure, while others think he's been very successful as president. Depends who you ask.

But if your question were "does it matter what race the president is?" the answer should be no.

    think about it...

the very first thing people SEE..is what you look like...before you even open your mouth..they have already seen..the color of your hair...texture of your skin, the color of your eyes...your teeth,,,

so..yes, it does matter,,,in this way...that you would be expected to present yourself properly...

i can recall many instances meeting people after a phone call working sales...and immediately hearing..

"you didn't sound mexican on the phone" i don't see that as an insult..rather...i took it as i presented my ethnicity properly...i opened a door...

    yes....ethnicity matters...

In a society that wasn't racist the media wouldn't care at all what race the president is.
