What I think is happening is you have something down inside the dash like a pen or something that has worked it's way down to your HVAC blend door or you could have a bad valve/linkage but it sounds like the door is trying to close and somethings not letting it. Your blend door transfers forced air from the floor to your dash for defrost purposes and such. Disabling it would be a mistake, if you are not sure how it works you might want to get a mechanic to look at it. They are really not that hard to do though! Good Luck
