How bad is the flood in UK?

I've lost communication with my friend almost a month ago and I'm very worried.

Update 2:

Sagebrush,

That's cute. Thanks for the laugh :)

In the last few weeks there have been 38 separate floods in the UK and whilst there has been quite considerable property damage, only one person has lost their life (a gentleman in Northumberland died when his vehicle was swept away, this was about 10 days ago).

The situation is improving and currently there are only 44 flood alerts and warnings in place, most of these are in the Midlands and the Southwest. The Environment Agency provides up to the minute details of where floods are occurring and which areas are at risk:

There are currently several thousand properties that are either without electricity or have had to be vacated. Maybe your friend is affected in this manner.

However, you did say you lost contact about a month ago, this would have been at the start of the current spate of flooding and the areas that were affected back then were Northern Ireland, Mid Wales, Northumberland, West Yorkshire and the Scottish Borders. Many of the affected homes and businesses are uninhabitable and will take six to twelve months to repair. If your friend lived in one of these areas it’s possible that they have had to relocate.

If you want to say where your friend lives I can check and see if that area has been affected by any flooding of late.

UPDATE: The death toll has increased to four. One person swept away in Shropshire and two missing people found in a car beaneath a landslide,

UK weather forecasters warn of more flooding. Many events planned for today have been affected including the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where the car parks have been flooded, leading the organisers to ask tens of thousands of spectators to stay away from today's qualifying round.

Your link is old news from two weeks ago. The UK had worse floods 50 yrs ago and there were worse floods in the Bible. What is your point?
