Is Mourinho... "average"?

I mean, he's got a great team. over one billion euros since the year 2000 spent on it. Players like Kaka sitting on the bench...

Any average manager can manage a great team, so surely Mou have been average over the last 2 seasons?

So, which one is it Madridistas/Mourinhoistas, is the team great or the manager? Because it seems that's why Pep gets belittled...

Update:

Sunil is the only person here who can actually read...

"over the last 2 seasons"

You're saying he's been great over the last 2 seasons because he won the CL with Porto in 04 (from memory)?

Update 2:

Look out for a follow up question later today

I always knew you were an idiot but this question is a new low...even for you.

P.S. Your a glory-hunter supporting multiple teams, so your opinions are ALWAYS invalid.

But you can't judge someone on the last 2 years, what's earned Mourinho the right to be named one of the best is the fact he's earned great amounts of success with multiple teams in multiple leagues and until Pep can thrive in more than one managerial position who can he called better? He's only managed for four years

If we only consider the last two years, Mourinho came in as underdogs. Barcelona won all six trophies and beat RM 6-2 in their own stadium. RM then underwent a radical transformation or 'panic bought' and failed to challenge a superb Barcelona with Pellegrini.

Mourinho came in and changed the majority of the team again, he brought in Ozil, Di Maria and Khedira and changed the entire midfield, he brought in the experienced Carvalho and was thrashed. He was beaten 5-0 by Barcelona against a Barcelona that have been together for decades, that have a defined style of playing. Mourinho then went on to beat Barca in a final, he reached the semi finals of the CL twice, losing against Barcelona and Bayern on penalties then went on to win La Liga

You can he spent loads but he didn't buy Kaka, he was already there when he came. He's bought 10 players for 125m which is 12.5m Euro per player, and you'll find it's the same with Chelsea and Inter.

And spending money doesn't guarantee success, most still consider that Barcelona have a better squad

Mourinho transforms teams, he builds chemistry from the group up and he almost guarantee's instant success

Let's see what Pep can do in the next 10 years. Pep doesn't get belittled, but he's hugely overrated, he doesn't deserve to be held in such high regard as his managerial skills are so unproven. Let's see what he's made out of first

Mourinho has built teams and their chemistry from the ground up. As good as pep is he inherited the chemistry and the team. There is a difference.... if i was to read this question without answering and just being a onlooker i'd think someone is complaining through a question and it makes little sense other than the fact you dont like mourinho and these are just rants you thought of in your head. I wouldnt respect the question because its just to take a piss on madridistas... That aside im no madrid, or mourinho supporter but i can definitely see a good manager, team, and just overall quality when i see it. Is he average for wining a league? Alot of 'Average' teams rarely get to say they lifted a league trophy....

    jsing...

Remember, if you want a madridista to repsect barca you have to respect the madridistas opinion too. lol

    Seriously relax.

    one love

A chimp can win titles as Barcelona's manager. What does that say about Guardiola?

As for Mourinho, yes he's specding a lot of money with Madrid because Madrid has the money, but if he was an average manager, why was the manager before him not able to win the league even though he spent way more than Mourinho?

Mourinho is the best manager of his generation and possibly of all time because he has won with multiple teams, some of them as underdogs.

EDIT: NewRolas, I don't bash wealthy clubs who are actually generating their own money, I bash newly rich plastic clubs like Man City and PSG who sold out to a rich foreign sugar daddy. I'll try to be more specific next time because I see you don't have the mental capacity to put two and two together.

Except Mourinho has won titles with many teams... what a horrible, flawed argument. You really couldn't have thought of the fact that Mourinho had won CLs and leagues elsewhere before you posted this? lmao.

edit: ok, maybe you have trouble comprehending. Guardiola is an average manager because he can only win with a rich club with amazing players. He has not had an average 2 seasons. He is just an average manager.

  • Your opinion as an amateur critic and a hater is that he is average. However, other great coaches, players, officials and administrators have all agreed that mourinho is one of the greatest of all time.Officially, only Ferguson and Wegner have been ranked higher than him and we all know it's because of their seniority and longevity at their respective clubs.Guardiola was ranked way at 22.You see,had it not been for Mourinho the world would have never heard of players like Drogba or Cech.Had it not been for his genius implementation of the micro tactics back in his Porto days football would not have been the same and in particular Barcelona's style of play would only be similar to the possession football played in the 70's lame and even more boring.Prior to his arrival, Porto and Chelsea were teams that had struggled for so long.In the event that you question his current place:he removed Barcelona as as the Spanish power and he defeated Barcelona again. When it comes to Mourinho,he has that special capacity to make even average players great and legendary. In the end, your argument is invalid and pure nonsense.

Mourinho, because he took underdoga Porto to the CL and EL title.

EDIT-No, I am saying he is not average because he won the CL with FC Porto. He also won many titles with Chelsea and Inter. Plus he has been more successful than his predecessor in the last 2 seasons. Mourinho was able to win La Liga over Pep's Barca.

hows he average? yes he has a brilliant team, yet his rival barcelona have the best player in the world in messi, best central midfielder in the world which is xavi, and iniesta, and more, to beat that team to a title is good, he is a great manager, even when other managers have managed madrid, in the past decade they've failed, for example pelliegrini had ronaldo + kaka, still failed and lost in CL to lyon.

I'm a Barca fan and i really hate Mourinho, however he is good coach.

Bad person + amazing coach = Mourinho.

He is truly a genius, better than Guardiola.
