Forgetting one's own true nature is the original sin. With this, there is beginning or the all other sins.

In traditional Christian teaching, original sin is the result of Adam and Eve's disobedience to God when they ate a forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden.

Dear Madam
Different religions describe ‘sin’ differently
In Hinduism, the term sin (papa in Sanskrit) is often used to describe actions that create negative karma by violating moral and ethical codes, which automatically brings negative consequences.
‘Thoughts’ is the origin of ‘Action”; Negative and evil thoughts produce negative actions and negative consequences, whereas positive and good thoughts result in positive actions and consequences. That’s why the elders and Gurus always advice to control thoughts
And always “think well’ do well’ etc.
So origin of Sin is our ‘Thought’ only

'Original sin' refers to the consequence of the actions of Adam and Eve, the first humans, who disobeyed God's command not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Their actions brought sin into the world, which also brought death into the world. All of mankind are born with this "sinful nature". The only exception to this was Jesus Christ himself. He was born through the Holy Spirit; without sin.
In Romans 6:23, the Bible tells us: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Anyone who accepts the gift of Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice took away all sin, "has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life" (John 5:24).

It was the sin of Adam and Eve. They failed a simple test.
Now we are in a state that it is nearly impossible for us to stay away from sin. That is why we need the sacrifice of Jesus who led a sinless life.

The sin which Adam and Eve committed in the Garden of Eden, and the consequences which humanity inherited because of it. (Bodily sickness and death, a heightened susceptibility to sin, [and, in Western Christian thought, the inheritance of Adam's guilt.])
