Would the Ojibway people have responded differently to the OKA confrontation?

I'm writing a story that involves an Oka-like confrontation between an Ojibway community and the military and police. I am using the Oka crisis as a model, but I'm wondering if there are cultural differences between the Mohawk and the Ojibway that would result in a different reaction to the confrontation.

It is doubtful. There are similar, but less well known conflicts that have gone on all across Canada. Similar, as in how the government has tried to trample Native rights, sent in heavy police forces or military, shot at women and children, or tear gased Elders...........I think the Mohawk responded the way any humans would have/should have, and that is why so many Quebecois were able to see the wrong in the situation.

It is too bad the people of Caledonia aren't more like some of the Quebecois.
