Too much black pepper in my soup!?
Accidently poured rather than shook ground black pepper into my lovely chicken & veg soup I'm making..
I know it's a long-shot but is there anything to counteract this overpowerment?
Thanks cooks!
this is last of my food.. I cannot make another soup, therefore my query is what can i do now, if anything.
Thanks..

Add in some broth/water. Squeezing a bit of lemon juice and sugar (which will help to cut down some of the sourness) also helps. But first things first, see if you can strain some of the particles. If not, try the above. At times, heating the soup if its at room temperature also helps to mellow down the taste of pepper and give a slight sweetness to the soup.

If you haven't mixed the pepper into the soup yet, (like it is lying on top of the broth) take a large serving or mixing spoon and remove as much as you can and discard it. If the pepper has been mixed into the soup, you can add water to it, but that might ruin the taste of the soup as it could make it bland and watery. Adding broth or water and bullion cubes would be better.
I am sorry that this is the last of your food.

Make more soup. The only way to counter act too much seasoning is to double recipe and taste for flavor accordingly as you add ingredients.

add some cream to it, pour some into a plastic box with a lid, and freeze, then you can work on the bit you have left over.
