Could I get mononucleosis?
I am the nanny to three children and I recently learned that both of their parents have mono. Just before I learned this, I shared a drink (unintentionally) with the couple's youngest child. I am also in their house frequently. What is the likelihood of me contracting the infection? :(

You have about a 50% chance of catching it due to the fact that by the time a person is in their teens half of them have already had mono.
Young children can catch mono without showing symptoms that teens and adults show. A childs symptoms are so mild that parents don't even think they are sick enough to go to the doctor.
Mono is contagious 5 to 7 weeks before a person even comes down with the symptoms!
