How would you spell the name "Keira?"?
I am pregnant and having a little girl next month. We currently have a 2 year old girl named Kiana Rayne. For our new little girl, I really like the name Keira (like the actress Keira Knightly). It is pronounced Keer-rah. The middle name I like is Mei (pronounced May). This would be to honor my grandmother who passed away a couple of months ago (her middle name was Mae). I like the Mei spelling because I am half Asian and half White and Mei means younger sister in Chinese which I thought was fitting. However, I'm starting to second guess my name choices. I am finding out that many people are already spelling the name Keira as Kiera (been getting baby shower gifts to "Kiera"). Is this a better spelling of the name? Can you please give me your opinion on how you think it should be spelled? I am also open to suggestions. Thank you in advance! :)

Keira Mei is adorable...congratulations. Definitely keep the spelling the way it is, like the actress. Don't let a few people who can't spelll change your mind. Kiera doesn't look nearly as pretty as Keira. Ignore their mispelling and make sure when you have a baby shower KEIRA is written everywhere for guests to see. :)

I would spell it exactly how you do. Keira.
Kiera just makes me think the pronounciation would be "kee air uh" or "kee arr uh", which obviously isn't the pronounciation you're going after.
Don't change your ideal name based on the way other people choose to spell it - once she's born and the name is finalized, they will figure it out and start spelling it right!
Since you're open to suggestions: I have a little cousin named Keire, it's pronounced the same way as Keira. in case that spelling is of interest to you.
And, offtopic, I think it's SO cute that your daughter's names will go together so well. ^^

I prefer the spelling "Kiera" over "Keira." However, I do know a girl with that name but it's spelled "Ciara."
Also, while Keira is a pretty name, don't you think it's too similar to Kiana?

I like Olivia higher, even though i don't rather care for the name. It is the natural spelling. Olivia Paige sounds first-rate and appears significantly better and more professional. If you spell it Alivia, she's constantly gonna be explaining her title for folks they usually're gonna misspell it all the time which is a colossal suffering in the @$$. Retailer her the main issue and spell it the proper method.

I much prefer Keira.
My favourite spelling would be Ciara, the traditional Irish one.

I know a little girl with that name and it's spelled Ceara. Sometimes people think it's pronounced Ciara, but you could spell it Keara.

Not sure why you would want to name a sibling with almost the same name. I don't know how I would spell that name.

I would go w. Keira Mei- I think it is lovely and goes well w. Kiana Rayne.
People will misspell names no matter what- so spell it Keira.
