In a cardiovascular exam why listen to heart sounds over lung sounds first?

it's for my nursing class and I cant remember why.

    CardioVascular HEART & Circulatory is a bit more important then hearing the guy has smokers lung too.. IF someone stops breathing does that mean they are dead? NO respitory arrest is not Cardiac Arrest can one be in respitory arrest and still have heart beat? hows about the no heart sounds but is breathing.. .....

    lastly if you were examining them for lung sounds it wouldnt be a Cardiovascular exam..(duh)

    Because your heart can stil beat when you're not breathing.
