If the NHL goes into a lockout, is the AHL/ECHL effected too?

They won't be. In fact, some teams will probably have the AHL affiliate play some games in the NHL arenas. It will give the fans a chance to see the up-and-coming prospects in the system. I do remember the Sabres doing that in during the last lockout.

  • They still played games in 2004-2005 when The NHL Owners shut down The NHL for The 2004-2005 Season. I went to American Hockey League Games and East Coast Hockey League Games. Sitting Center Ice at an ECHL Game for $20 a Ticket is a little different than sitting Center Ice at an NHL Game and paying $300+.
