Why do most americans drive autos?
Just wondering why you all seem to drive autos rather than proper cars with a clutch and a manual transmission?
Just wondering because here in England only about 1 in 100 cars is an auto.

Because the majority of Americans are lazy and want everything to be as simple and stupid as they can get it.
I am American. And yes, I just said that about my people. Why? Because it's true.
I learned how to drive in an automatic but that didn't last. Once I took the wheel of a manual, I was hooked. I will never, EVER buy or own a vehicle with an automatic transmission (unless I ever end up like losing my legs or something lol)
I would be so embarrassed to drive an automatic.
When I have kids, they will not drive automatics.
It makes me absolutely sick that the majority of all the good vehicles don't come with manual transmission options anymore.
I have a severe dislike for whoever invented the automatic transmission.

Soccer moms and traffic are causing the death of the manual. Soccer moms want things to be easy, and driving in traffic for 30 miles each way in a manual gets old after a while.
I hate automatics, they are so boring.

because we like to focus on everything except driving. i have a manual transmission and love it. and if i had teenage kids i would make them drive a manual, too. it forces you to pay more attention.

cause it is a pain to have to shift all the time.
autos were invented to this for you .
i would much rather have and auto than a stick shift.
