Need audio-video help with DVD/TV problem!?
Ok, got an older TV without the remote control. Tried to hook up a DVD player to it, and got nothing. Without the remote, I tried to find a usable signal channel with the TV menu buttons, but found nothing. So, I got a universal remote and was able to find the Input channel (00) I think. Now, I hear the audio, so sound is working, but there's no video at all. In fact, the screen says "unusable signal". Its NOT the DVD player, in fact its doing the same thing when I hook up a playstation to it. I have sound, but no video. And its NOT the wires, they are hooked up right and I've tried 2 different yellow video wires.

With the DVD player hooked up and running and you can hear the audio, unplug the video cable from the T.V. If it still says unusable signal, then its the televisions input that is bad.

Make sure you are making the same connection as you are on the dvd player. Yellow (Video Out) on the Dvd player, to Yellow (Video in on the TV) if you have more than one input make sure it is on the right input for where you are plugged in.
