My horse was acting odd?
Yesterday Me and my friend were riding my horse, taking turns. Her was her third turn and she was jumping on, she got on then when she asked my horse to go forward, my orse did a little rear, spun aroun dand started backing up. I was like, What the? M friend was rding nice she wasnt yanking up my horses mouth or anything, but my ony was like, playing up soo hard. So I jumped on, and the second I hit teh saddle she was like, Oh thats ok. Ad walked on calmly. No fuss, no growl minimum aids. Both me and my friend were asking my horse to d the same thing, at the same place, in the same way... For my friend she was realy bad and for me she was just normal? It was really odd, especially was she was good for the rest of teh ride.
My horse is sound, of both mind and body. Her tack fits and she wears a mild snaffle bit. Her teeth is done regually, she is wormed with nice hooves and in good working cndition. at the time of above incident she was not sweating or puffing, and we were heading home. She was being ridden on a loose rein and both me and my friend have soft hands.
It was so weird! I'm just looking for ideas of why you gys think it may have hapened.
PS: Her reaer was not a real rear she just did like, a little bounce. Her feet actually only came about 30cm off teh ground lol!

She was just acting up for a new rider- nothing odd about it. My horse tests every rider that gets on him by doing the same thing. Stopping, doing a little rear, and then spinning around or backing up. If he really doesn't like what the rider is doing- he will rear up to the fullest height, spin in mid-air, then take off sprinting down the nearest road. Horses are smart with trying to see what they can get away with, obviously your mare was just trying to see what the girl would do and if she would just get off or give up.

This sounds precisely like my horse. When I first received him he would not trot he would just canter. He would also nap which is what your loan horse is doing. What I did used to be institution him for at least half-hour 5 occasions every week. I would also instruct him steady manners whilst. This won't most effective make him recognize you whilst your on the bottom however whilst you experience as well. Hope I helped :)

A lot of horses have the mentality that "I don't do lessons, and that's final!" They just think that this girl riding is just a random stranger coming to ride, and they won't have it. Only the people they know and like can ride, and strange people are treated like lessoners - and they don't do lessons. So, the horse was not happy, and eventually just got tired of it. Hence the bad behavior.
