How Can I Avoid Seeing My Ex In This Situation?

Okay, so I haven't talked to my ex in a month, and things have really started to get better. However, recently one of my friends asked me (male) if I'd like to try out a gym in my area with him, because he has a free membership there, and if I go with him, I'd get a free-week pass. The only problem with that is, I don't really want to work out, and my ex works out there! I really don't want to run into him. I'm even going to attend a different campus (community college) in the fall so I won't run into him accidentally. I really don't want to see him, if you can't tell. Usually this situation has been a breeze for me, but If I start to go there (where his mom and little sister work out as well) I might run into either of them, which would be really awkward. I don't want him to think I'm following or spying on him or something. Then again, it is only a week...should I just go ahead and do it, or decline the offer?

Go ahead and do it! Even if you do run into your ex or his family, act like an adult and just smile like you would any other stranger! He is only another person in this world. Being your ex shouldn't make it harder for you to just smile. You said it has gotten better since so smile! Show you are happy enough without him! That will make things better!

If you don't want to see your ex that badly, politely refuse your friend's offer. Make sure to explain your reason for refusing to keep from hurting his feelings. If this guy's a true friend, he'll understand and drop it.

you can't live your life in hiding so that you don't see your ex. if you want to go to the gym then go. if you happen to see your ex just continue on with your business, you don't have to say anything to him. Just go on about your business. good luck

Just say no to your friend. Working out should be fun.
